Today we are excited to announce the launch of our new Creator Marketplace. This feature allows users to hire experienced creators on PromptBase for a variety of AI related tasks; whether it be creating custom prompts, fine-tuning models, or building apps and websites involving AI.
In this post we will go through how this new feature works within PromptBase. If you want to get started straight away, you can begin by using the buttons below.
Previously we launched a 'Custom Prompt' system within PromptBase, allowing users to set their own rates and be commissioned to create prompts for paying clients.
Although this system worked fine, it was quite limited in its implementation. The main feedback we received from users was:
We therefore decided to rethink this system from the ground up, remove the previous system, and introduce the new AI Creator Marketplace.
The new AI Creator Marketplace flips the existing Custom Prompt system on its head. Instead of a buyer reaching out to creators, they can instead post a job and have creators reach out to them.
Here's an overview of how this works:
We'll go through each of these steps in more detail within this post.
If you sign up to PromptBase as a client, you'll be able to post jobs on the AI Creator Marketplace.
Posting a job consists of several easy steps:
You can pay for your job via an hourly rate, or via fixed amounts whenever a creator completes a milestone within the job.
Hourly payments mean that you'll only pay for the hours logged by the creator.
Before starting a job, you'll agree upon an hourly rate, and a maximum number of hours that can be logged each week.
The creator can then log their work with a description of what was done. The client can review this work, and each week on Monday they'll receive an invoice for the hours logged which will be paid out to the creator.
For example, a client and creator may agree on a rate of $25/hour for creating a custom prompt and a maximum of 5 hours per week. The creator logs 2 hours on a Tuesday, and 2 hours on a Friday. On Monday at the start of the next week, the client is invoiced 4 hours x $25 = $100.
Fixed payments allow you to set a specified amount to be paid out to a creator once the project is complete. The client places the fixed amount into escrow, and once the work is complete, it is paid out to the creator.
For example, a client and a creator may agree on a rate of $100 for creating a custom prompt. The client pays $100 into escrow. The creator submits work for the client to review, and once satisfied, they can release the $100 to pay the creator.
Fixed payments allow you to break your project down into milestones, and payout smaller amounts on the completion of specific tasks. For example, instead of paying out $100 for the completion of the project like in the example above, you could have:
If you sign up to PromptBase as a freelancer, you'll be able to browse jobs posted by clients and submit proposals to them in order to try and win the contract.
Creators will have access to a new jobs dashboard, which shows a list of recently posted jobs, and jobs they're best matched to. You can also search and filter jobs by price, skills required, and other features in order to find jobs you're best suited to.
After you find a job you're interested in, you can submit a proposal. This consists of:
Clients have a similar 'Hiring Dashboard' which shows them relevant information about their job posts, offers and projects.
When new users apply to a job, clients can review proposals, shortlist users, and send invites to other creators to apply for the job.
Clients can message creators to gather more information on their proposal, or negotiate a rate. Once they are satisfied, they can send the creator a formal contract for the job.
If the contract is a Fixed Price contract, then the client will need to deposit funds into Escrow in order to formally initiate the offer. If it's an Hourly contract, then they will need to confirm the payment method they wish to use for invoices.
If you're a creator, offers that you receive from clients will appear on your jobs dashboard. You'll need to review and accept the offer in order for the contract between you and the client.
After accepting the contract, finally work can begin!
The client and creator will gain access to a shared workroom where they can monitor the progress of the project.
Within the workroom, there is:
Once the project is complete, then the client can choose to end the contract with the freelancer and leave a review.
With our previous custom prompt system, creator earnings had a 20% Marketplace Fee in order to help run our marketplace, and offer services like payment processing and support. This was in line with our Prompt Marketplace.
We're excited to offer significantly reduced fees with the new AI Creator Marketplace, making it even more rewarding for creators:
In addition, clients are charged a one-time $4.99 Contract Initiation Fee to initiate a contract with a creator.
In order to maintain quality and reduce spam both in job listings and job applications, we also charge the following credits:
Credits can be earned in a number of ways across PromptBase for free, including receiving 10 free credits each day.
If you apply to a job and the job is removed, or expires due to inactivity after 30 days, then you will be refunded your credits for applying.
We are excited to launch this brand new job platform on PromptBase. Our goal with this feature is to provide a much more flexible and intuitive system for hiring AI creators and increase their earnings.
If you have any feedback, questions or suggestions about this feature, please don't hesitate to reach out via the email on our contact page, or send a message to @ben.
