The TV Player team is responsible for streaming video player that brings industry-leading playback experiences to the Netflix app running on CE devices. Our player runs on millions of CE devices comprising Smart TVs, streaming sticks, game consoles, and set-top boxes, delighting our members with innovative playback features and the best streaming quality.
The TV Player team sits at the nexus of a diverse set of innovative activities around product feature expansion (recent playback features include Live Streaming, Seamless Ads playback, and Ident innovation), A/B experimentation of new encodes (ex: AV1) to increase adoption, support for new security features, content discovery and playback control on companion devices, as well as continuous integration and release management of our video player.
