Today we are launching several new features and changes around prompt bundles with the aim of increasing sales for prompt creators.
Bundles can now be larger with greater discounts, and prompts can be in multiple bundles at the same time. Bundles are now also displayed more prominently to users before making a purchase.
At the same time we're launching global cart discounts, an optional scheme that rewards buyers on PromptBase with small discounts for purchasing larger quantities of prompts that may not be in bundles, and increases sales for creators.
Bundles have been a popular feature for both buyers and sellers since launching last year, allowing merchants to offer discounts to customers who purchase larger quantities of prompts in one go, and overall increase their total sales.
Previously bundles were limited to 4 prompts and discounts of 25%, however, with this latest update, bundle sizes can be increased up to 10 prompts with larger discounts, provided you have reached the following sales:
These higher discounts are only applicable to larger bundle sizes, for example you can only apply a 45% discount to an 8-prompt bundle or higher.
Over the past couple of months we have also relaxed the minimum sales required to start creating bundles, which can be seen in the perks tab on account pages.
Previously prompts were only able to feature in one bundle at a time. However, we found that this condition made it awkward for merchants to figure out what prompts were in which bundles, and it also prevented activities like creating custom one-off bundles for buyers.
Now, we have removed this condition so that there is no limit as to how many bundles a prompt can be in.
Below store pages for prompts, the most recent bundle created that includes the prompt will be shown. We've also added a new Bundles tab to prompt edit pages that shows all the bundles a prompt is included in.
Previously, bundles were shown below prompt store pages, requiring a user to scroll down to view it. Often buyers did not know a bundle existed, and sellers were including instructions in their prompt descriptions telling a user to scroll down.
Now, if a user goes to buy a prompt that is included with a bundle, a modal will appear offering the bundle, clearly showing the savings offered. The buyer can then choose whether to continue just purchasing the prompt, or go ahead and purchase the bundle.
Since launching the shopping cart feature last year, we've seen an increase in conversion rates on prompt sales due to buyers having the ability to purchase multiple prompts at once.
Our new optional global cart discount scheme aims to increase merchants' overall sales and conversion rates further by automatically offering small discounts to buyers based on the number of prompts in their cart. Currently:
The prompts in a cart do not need to be in bundles, and do not need to be from the same seller. The scheme is optional, and you can opt-out at any time from your account settings.
Sales from global cart discounts are identified with a 'Cart' chip on account sales pages.
The aim of these updates are to boost sales for merchants, and are based on analysis of thousands of prompt transactions on our platform. For a full list of updates, check out the changelog.
We still have many features in the works surrounding bundles, and hope to implement them at later dates this year.
