Introducing PromptBase Select for Creators
On February 25th, we're launching PromptBase Select — a new subscription-based system designed to increase your revenue by monetising prompts of your choosing that don't sell as often.
The existing marketplace remains the same, PromptBase Select sits alongside it as a completely optional, additional revenue stream. Nothing is changing today — this blog post just explains how it works and how you can configure your settings before it goes live.
The Key Facts
- Buyers pay $14/mo (annual) or $19/mo (monthly) for 10 downloads/month
- You earn $1.00 each time a subscriber downloads one of your Select prompts
- You choose which prompts are in Select — opt out entirely, or pick and choose
- New revenue from prompts that currently sit idle
- Individual sales, pricing, and fees are completely unchanged
- Select prompts can still be purchased at full price as normal
- Select goes live on February 25th
- Default setting is to include prompts older than 60 days, priced $6.99 or less, with no sales in the past 60 days, you can change this to whatever works best for you before launch
How It Works
Buyers subscribe to PromptBase Select for $14/mo (annual) or $19/mo (monthly), and get 10 downloads of Select-eligible prompts per month.
As a creator, you choose which prompts are part of Select. Prompts included in Select display a Select infinity icon on their thumbnail across the marketplace, letting buyers know they can download it with their subscription.
When a buyer downloads one of your prompts via their Select subscription, you earn $1.00. This appears as a sale in your Sales dashboard, just like any other sale — marked with a purple Select chip so you can easily identify it.

Which Prompts Are Included?
You have full control over which of your prompts are included in Select. There are two ways to manage this:
Global rules — In your account settings, you can set a rule that automatically includes prompts based on their age, price and last sale date. For example, you can include all prompts older than 90 days priced under $3.99 with no sales in the past 180 days. You can also opt out entirely.

Individual overrides — On each prompt, you can override the global rule. So if your global rule includes all prompts older than 60 days, but you want to exclude a specific prompt, you can. And vice versa — you can include a specific prompt even if your global rule would otherwise exclude it.

What Doesn't Change
- You can still sell prompts individually at your own prices
- Marketplace fees for individual sales remain exactly the same
- Payouts continue on your usual cycle
- You choose which prompts are part of Select, and can opt out at any time
Why Select?
Select helps monetise prompts that aren't selling. Most creators have prompts that get views but don't convert into individual sales as often. Select turns those prompts into new revenue that didn't exist before.
For example, if you have 30 prompts in Select and each gets just a handful of downloads per month, that could be an extra $30–$50/month in revenue from prompts that were otherwise sitting idle.
A big point of friction for buyers on PromptBase is having to do individual purchases for each prompt they want to use. Select gives them a way to easily subscribe once, download more of your prompts, and transfer more value to you as a creator.
Timeline
Today — Your Select settings are live. You can head to your account settings right now to configure which prompts are included, adjust your global rules, or opt out entirely. No Select downloads will happen yet.
February 25th — Select launches to buyers. This is when subscribers can start downloading Select-eligible prompts and you'll begin earning from Select.
To make it easy to get started, the default setting for all sellers is to include prompts older than 60 days, priced $6.99 or less, with no sales in the past 60 days. You have two weeks to change this to whatever works best for you before Select goes live.
How Does This Affect My Individual Sales?
Select is designed to add to your revenue by monetising prompts that aren't selling, not replace it.
Select subscribers are a different type of customer — think agencies, heavy users, and power buyers who need dozens of prompts a month. These buyers are currently browsing PromptBase but not purchasing individually. Select gives them a way to buy, and that revenue goes to you.
Your individual sales continue as normal alongside Select. Buyers who want a specific prompt can still purchase it at full price at any time — Select is an additional channel, not a replacement for your existing sales.
FAQ
When does Select launch?
Your Select settings are live now — you can configure which prompts are included right away. Select launches to buyers on February 25th, which is when subscribers will be able to start downloading. No Select downloads will happen before then.
Do Select downloads count towards my sale stats?
Yes. Select downloads appear as sales in your dashboard and count towards your overall sales statistics.
Can I move prompts in and out of Select?
Yes. You can change your global rules or use individual overrides at any time. There's no lock-in — you can include or exclude any prompt whenever you like.
Can a Select prompt still be purchased individually at full price?
Yes. Select prompts can always still be purchased individually at full price as normal.
Do I have to do anything to get started?
Not if you're happy with the default. The starting setting includes prompts older than 60 days, priced $6.99 or less, with no sales in the past 60 days — if that works for you, you're all set. If you'd like to adjust which prompts are included, or opt out, head to your account settings. You can change your preferences at any time.
Can I opt out completely?
Yes. You can opt out of Select entirely from your account settings. No prompts of yours will be included.
What happens if I remove a prompt from Select?
It's immediately removed — no lock-in, no penalties. Existing buyers who already downloaded it keep their copy, but no new Select downloads will occur for that prompt.
Does Select change my prompt pricing or fees?
No. Your prompt prices and marketplace fees for individual sales are completely unchanged.
