📚 Room 14 Weekly Update — Week of October 14 What We've Been Up To What a week! We wrapped up our community helpers unit with a bang — students read about firefighters and nurses, then completed a neighborhood mapping activity where each student drew and labeled their own community. The conversations that came out of that project were wonderful. Kids were pointing out libraries, parks, and even the post office as important community helpers too. We also fit in two great read-alouds that sparked some really thoughtful discussion. Upcoming • Picture Day — Friday, October 18 • Library books due — Wednesday, October 16 • Field trip permission slips due — Thursday, October 17 Reminders • School starts at 8:00 AM (not 8:15!) • Please make sure your child's name is on all library books before returning them A huge shoutout to our whole class for hitting our classroom reading goal this week — every single student completed their reading log.
