Senior Dog Spa — Gentle and Warm Older dogs need more than a groom — they need patience, warmth and hands that know where it hurts. We use a heated table, extra support and a slower pace so your senior dog is comfortable from the first minute to the last. Breed Specific Styling — The Proper Finish Schnauzers, Doodles, Spaniels, Terriers — every breed has a coat that behaves differently and a standard that matters. Muddy Paws started in 2019 because Sarah could not find a groomer in Austin who would take the time her rescue Beagle needed. So she trained, built out a van and started doing it herself. Every dog that comes to us gets the same thing — no rush, no cage drying, no background noise, just one dog and one groomer with nowhere else to be. We specialise in anxious dogs, rescue dogs and dogs who have had bad experiences before. They are not difficult. They just need someone who understands. Most dogs need their ear canal checked and cleaned regularly — especially floppy eared breeds like Spaniels and Bassets who trap moisture. Signs to watch for: head shaking, scratching at the ear, or a smell that was not there before. Mention it at your next groom and we will take a look. BREED OF THE MONTH — BORDER COLLIE Border Collies have a double coat that sheds heavily twice a year and moderately all the time. They do not need clipping — in fact cutting the coat can damage the insulating properties that keep them cool in summer and warm in winter. Regular brushing and a de-shed treatment twice a year is the right approach for most Collies. SEASONAL REMINDER Summer booking is now open. BEHIND THE SCENES Last month we groomed our 500th dog since launching in 2019. Her name was Biscuit, she was a 14 year old Westie and she fell asleep on the table halfway through her blow dry.
