What I did:
Replaced "found out" with "discovered"
Changed the order of the sentence to put the name and the profession of the surveyor in the beginning
Used the word "faulty" instead of "falsified" to keep the meaning intact but change the wording
Note: It's important to keep in mind that rephrasing should not be done to deceive or hide the fact that the text is taken from a source, but rather to give it a unique spin while still giving credit to the original author through proper citation.
