Title: Echoes of Vengeance
Tone: Melancholic and reflective
Word Count: 200 words
Setting: A crumbling mansion shrouded in mist on the outskirts of a forgotten town.
Isabella stood in the dimly lit hallway of her family’s crumbling mansion, the air thick with dust and regret. Years of silence had suffocated the laughter that once filled its walls. The portraits of her ancestors watched her with eyes that seemed to know her darkest secrets. Her heart ached for the forbidden love that had blossomed with Marcus, a servant’s son, until her father discovered their secret.
But that was just the beginning of her torment. In a moment of blind rage, he had banished Marcus from the mansion, a move that would haunt Isabella forever.
As the moonlight filtered through cracked windows, shadows danced, whispering Marcus’s name. She could feel his presence, a gentle caress of longing and sorrow. The townsfolk spoke of ghosts haunting the estate, but Isabella knew it was her heart that lingered in this place—an echo of vengeance and unfulfilled love.
Driven by a desire for revenge against her father's cruelty, she sought out the ancient spell rumored to bind souls. In the depths of night, she whispered her wish, hoping to find solace in a love long lost, unaware of the price she would pay for her desire.
