STORY CHALLENGE:
After a long journey at sea, we finally reach the island where the treasure is buried. But when we get there, we find that the map we have is torn into pieces. We need to put it back together to find the location of the treasure. Luckily, we have a jigsaw puzzle of a pirate ship that can help us. We need to put the puzzle together to reveal a hidden message that will lead us to the treasure.
BUILD INSTRUCTIONS:
Create a jigsaw puzzle with a pirate ship image (can be bought or made)
Write a message on the back of the puzzle pieces that will lead to the treasure location (e.g. "Follow the compass to the west")
Hide the puzzle pieces around the living room
Provide glue and construction paper to stick the pieces together once found
HINT: Look for pieces with distinctive parts of the pirate ship to make it easier to solve.
SOLUTION: Once the puzzle is completed, the message on the back of the puzzle pieces will reveal the location of the treasure. The token for this challenge is a pirate hat.
