Introduction:
Drug governance and treatment are critical areas of research that have gained increasing attention in recent years. With the rising number of drug users worldwide, governments and health institutions are constantly seeking new strategies to combat drug addiction and improve recovery outcomes. This literature review aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the literature published between 2021 and 2022 on recovery in the field of drug governance and treatment. The review was conducted using two databases, Web of Science and Scopus, to provide an overview of the number of publications, the main topics of interest, and the top scholars in the field.
Number of publications:
The literature search conducted on Web of Science and Scopus resulted in a total of 2,681 publications between 2021 and 2022 that were relevant to the topic of recovery in drug governance and treatment. Table 1 presents the number of publications found in each database.

Summary of results and shortcomings of the research:
The literature review identified a significant amount of research published on recovery in drug governance and treatment between 2021 and 2022. The most common topics of interest were addiction recovery models, substance use disorder, and treatment outcomes. These scholars have made significant contributions to the field of drug governance and treatment, and their research has informed policy and practice.
However, the literature review also identified some shortcomings in the research. First, there is a lack of consensus on the definition of recovery, which has led to inconsistencies in research methods and findings. Second, there is a need for more research on the long-term outcomes of recovery, as most studies only focus on short.
