Several studies have demonstrated that adopting a transformational leadership style has a large and beneficial impact on the innovation behavior of employees. For example, Zhang, Waldman, Han, and Li (2015) discovered that transformational leadership had a favorable influence on employee innovation behavior. This was shown to be the case because of the influence that transformational leadership has on the creativity and intrinsic drive of employees. In a separate piece of research, Shin and Zhou (2013) found that transformational leadership boosts the creative self-efficacy of employees, which in turn boosts the innovative behavior of such people.
